Quiz Ideas
Recently I co-organized a quiz for my extended family. I came up with some new ideas for unusual rounds, and they all went down well, so I thought I'd make them freely available on my blog.
The first round was Lego Movie Posters. Check out an explanation and the questions here.
The second round was movie quotes. There are plenty of those available on the internet. I won't bore you by adding my own version; but I will suggest that if you do a movie quote round in a quiz that you could give one point for the movie and one for the character who said. This isn't usually done, but it went down well.
The third round was a bit more unusual. I created cryptic clues for famous musicians. Check out an explanation and the questions here.
The fourth round was the same as round three, but with bands instead of individual artists. Check out the questions here.
The fifth round was a scavenger hunt. These have also been done before, but as far as I know at least some of the items we asked for were original. Check out the ones we used, as well as any others I may have come up with by the time you read this.
Below are some other rounds I have come up with since (or have seen used in other quizzes), but were not in the original quiz:
Alphabet Challenge
Name something beginning with every letter of the alphabet in a certain theme, e.g.:
- Movies
- Countries
- Trees
- Famous Directors
- Fruits
- Cities
