UNCOOKED - My Favourite Movie Trope


 What do the following movies have in common?

  • Phineas and Ferb: Across the Second Dimension
  • Airplane!

  • Guardians of the Galaxy

Answer: They all contain my favourite trope in movies.

To explain, I'm going to start by showing you a clip from Avengers: Endgame:


Fantastic scene, greatly enhanced by Alan Silvestri's fantastic score; I'm sure you'll agree. However, that's what you can hear. Here's what the characters can hear:

 
Now let's compare that to a scene from Phineas and Ferb: Across the Second Dimension:
To give you some context, Phineas and Ferb have just learned that their pet platypus is a spy, and in order to help him fight a robot army, they have just replicated every gadget that they had created until the movie came out. If that doesn't make sense to you, check out the whole movie on Disney+

And here's what those characters can hear:


This is because PnF has music playing canonically. The music we can hear is the music they can hear.

BTW, there's also a version of the PnF footage with the Avengers music, and IMO it improves both:

The other way round, not so much:
It's good, but it doesn't quite fit. Age of Ultron, on the other hand...

To remind you all, the theme is Posters, meaning that I will give a brief description of a Christmas Movie poster and you have to guess which movie the poster refers to.
