Survey results

At the start of January, I sent out a survey for people to make suggestions to improve my Christmas quiz. I got seven responses, and I'd like to share some of the results:

  • Most people chose to keep the signup notification on the first of November 
  • Four people preferred clues on Monday-Friday, but three people preferred Monday-Saturday
  • Most people preferred clues to be released at 11 (one person said 11:04 to be awkward - joke's on them; I'm asking them to help me automate it)
  • Most people wanted to let people join partway through the quiz

The rest of the survey was casting a dream version of A Christmas Carol. Special mention should be made to Teanbame, who said for every answer that they wanted to know the real identities of the other teams, but these are my favourite actual answers for each character (unfortunately only one person gave an answer for every character so most of the answers will be from Looks Like Rain Dear):

The most wonderful time of the year…

 It's November, which means it’s the perfect time of year to start thinking about Christmas Quizzes (For you; I’ve been thinking about them since April). That’s right, it’s signup time once again for the annual Christmas movie quiz! This year, the theme (chosen by last year’s winner) is: Posters Think you can figure out which movie goes with which clue? 2023 Quiz Rules

 Thanks, everyone, for signing up for the quiz! This year we have more teams than ever before, so competition will be fierce! To remind you all, the theme is Posters, meaning that I will give a brief description of a Christmas Movie poster and you have to guess which movie the poster refers to. In your signup automated reply, you should have received the following clue, worth 50 points: A man in a red cardigan looks at the camera in distress. He is surrounded by children dressed as biblical characters. Most people correctly guessed that this was 2009’s Nativity : This is the only occasion the actual poster will be included; if you want to check the accuracy of my descriptions for later entries, you will have to Google them yourselves.
