So... Watcha Creatin'?
You may remember that in a recent post I mentioned the following:
Lockdown is an absolutely perfect opportunity to do one thing:
Get creative and start on a project Watch Netflix.
Of course, that was a slight misnomer because I then made several watching recommendations, mostly through All4 or Amazon Prime Video. Also, I can give some updates:
A rant about Cats - I meant to write this in January, just after I'd seen it, but unfortunately laziness prevailed.
How to watch theatre shows in lockdown - National Theatre on Thursdays and various musicals on Fridays. List of NT shows coming up.
I personally recommend A Midsummer Night's Dream from the Bridge Theatre, to be broadcast June 25 on YouTube and available until 2 July. I will put up a PSA Post when it is available. Seriously, I cannot recommend this production enough.
Extracurricular activities for Musical fans - Broadway and West End stars have been busy in lockdown and have recorded some songs via Zoom etc. which you can watch.
Pantomime for Americans - It occurred to me that not enough Americans understand the concept of British Panto and so I thought now would be the best to educate them.
As you read this, it might not be live yet. It is coming though.
Goes Wrong Along - A way of watching The Goes Wrong Show with additional commentary and behind the scenes facts from the cast and writers
The Goes Wrong Show Statistics - I wanted to know how many times people get hit, plus some other stats, so I painstakingly watched every episode, counting every hit. These were my results.
Tangents
Remember the play I've mentioned occasionally that can't be performed due to copyright reasons? Well now I've removed all the copyrighted characters and music, and I'm turning it into an interactive story. You can play it here.
Please bear in mind, there are a lot of different stories to write, so it will probably take a while to finish. At the time of writing, I've only published 4 pages of material, which doesn't even span the entire prologue!
When I wrote it originally, it was a lot funnier, but I hadn't realized how many of the jokes were 4th wall jokes, so the game isn't nearly as funny. I'm endeavoring to fix that though.
Play
Again, not Tangents. This project is a secret and I'm afraid I can't really say much more about it, except that it's a Christian play and it's based on the work of Mischief Theatre. This is also a collaborative project, this time with a friend. My brother says that with relatively little social engineering you can find out all you need to know.
Secret Project
I have a blog post which should be published sometime next week which will enlighten you more. Unlike the Secret Play, this project is so secret that even I don't know everything about it!
Lockdown is an absolutely perfect opportunity to do one thing:
Of course, that was a slight misnomer because I then made several watching recommendations, mostly through All4 or Amazon Prime Video. Also, I can give some updates:
- My brother has finally watched Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist and loves it. The series has now finished but the entire series is on All4 still.
- A second series of Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist has been commissioned but obviously, they can't start filming yet, meaning a release date is currently unclear.
- Rick and Morty S4 is now on NetFlix.
- I have added Cheers to the list.
But that's not what this blog post is about. Above, I crossed out Get creative and start on a project, but I am not known to practice what I preach. I'm currently being SUPER-creative. Box-set binging is a demanding job, but it usually leaves my weekends relatively free. With that in mind, check out what I've got going on at the moment:
My Blog
Perhaps this is the most obvious one, since that's what you're currently reading. You may have noticed (unlikely) that I didn't write anything between my Magic Goes Wrong Review (January 2020) and the riddle I invented (March 2020). There were a few others, but they were to do with MGW: Lite Review; Content Advisory; Theatre Accessibility Review, however, I'm not counting those as they are 'subsidiaries' of the MGW review.
However, since lockdown, I've written 8 separate blogs! DISCLAIMER: These may not necessarily be in the correct order
My Riddle - The answer will make you angry
