 It's that time of year again!

It's November, and my ones of fans will know that November is when I launch my Christmas Quiz.

Every weekday throughout December (starting Wednesday December 1st), I will send out a clue relating to a Christmas Movie via email, and if you reply with the correct answer you receive points. I don't know the points system yet as it will depend on how many people enter this year. The earlier you send a correct answer, the more points you will get.

The theme changes every year. This year's theme is:

Some people will say that I'm not telling you deliberately, but that is genuinely the theme, as chosen by Mappa Mundi, winner of last year's quiz.  

A word of warning: Some of the questions this year are so hard that even I can't answer all of them. Don't worry though; after week 2 the questions get a lot easier

Your name:

  • This should NOT be your real name
  • If you are part of a team, you should submit only one name between you
  • Names are limited to four words maximum (you can use less if you want to) due to an incident in a previous year. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE.
  • Please do not include swearwords as part of your name. A leaderboard will be published weekly and  I want the quiz to be as child-friendly as possible. If you submit a name containing a swear word, even if it is censored, you will be asked to change it.
  • You can use a team name you have used in the quiz in a previous year, but you do not have to.
  • If multiple individuals/teams submit the same name, the second individual/team will be asked to change it
  • If you want to be part of a team, you each need to submit your anonymous name individually
How you want to play the quiz (Include one of the codes below):
  • INDIVIDUAL - If you want to play just as yourself, you should pick this option. 
  • GROUP AS AN INDIVIDUAL - If you want to play as a group but only via one method of contact, you will be scored as a team but I will only accept answers from one source.
  • GROUP - All participating members must send separate signup emails, and I will communicate with you to confirm separately which group you are a part of.
  • SINGLE - If you want to play the quiz, but do not want to be competitive, that is also fine. Use the above code in your email. You can still view the leaderboard if you wish.
Please submit your team name and preferred method of playing to xmasquiz2020@gmail.com (I'm currently struggling to get an email address with this year on, so we're using last years for now. It should be a different email address that the clues are sent from though and you will be sent more information as the situation develops)

Submissions close at midnight on November 29th 26th.

P.S. If you find any of this post confusing, please make a note of specifically what so I can change it for next time. You will be able to let me know any issues you have in a survey you will be sent after the quiz has finished.

Christmas Quiz 2024

It's November, which means it’s the perfect time of year to start thinking about Christmas Quizzes (For you; I’ve been thinking about them since February). That’s right, it’s signup time once again for the annual Christmas movie quiz! This year, the theme (chosen by last year’s winner Raring to Snow ) is: When you signup, include your guess for what this means. 20 points available if you get it right!  Thanks, everyone, for signing up for the quiz! This year we have more teams than ever before, so competition will be fierce! To remind you all, the theme is Posters, meaning that I will give a brief description of a Christmas Movie poster and you have to guess which movie the poster refers to. In your signup automated reply, you should have received the following clue, worth 50 points: A man in a red cardigan looks at the camera in distress. He is surrounded by children dressed as biblical characters.
