The Hardest Mischief Quiz Ever
In honour of The Goes Wrong Show Series 2 being released, I thought I would create a quiz based on Mischief Comedy (formerly Mischief Theatre)'s most popular works. All of the questions have correct answers (from Mischief; I haven't made them up), although you might have to dig pretty deep to find some of the answers. In the answers, I have listed the source used for each answer.
The Play That Goes Wrong
- TPTGW is nearly unique because it is one of very few plays where the understudies play a role in every performance, in this case as stagehands who appear in the preshow. What are the names of the stagehands that they play? (there are two correct answers for this question, but in both cases, there is one male and one female understudy)
- Sandra had a previous modelling job advertising what company?
- Chris Bean is credited for lots of backstage jobs, including director and fight choreographer. What Rehearsal Role did he also fill in for?
- How many steps are there to the dressing room at The Duchess Theatre?
- What was the original name of TPTGW, which had to be changed due to audiences thinking it was actually going wrong?
- What is the name of Trevor's band (not his favourite band; the band that he is in)?
The Comedy About a Bank Robbery
- Every actor in CABR plays multiple parts, but one character is called Everyone Else, because they play all of the minor characters with only one or two lines. Not including the seagulls, how many parts does that person play?
- Not including seagulls, how many people die in the show?
- In one scene, Mitch and Mr Freeboys are debating the relative pain caused by being hit with different objects. In this scene, how many times is Warren hit:
- With the file
- With the stick
- On the table
- When Sam tries to buy flowers, who are the irises reserved for?
Peter Pan Goes Wrong (TV Version; sorry but I don't know enough about the stage show as I haven't seen it, although there are some questions about changes)
- On what date were the scenes in the park filmed?
- In the TV version, the narrator is played by David Suchet, but in the stage show, the narrator is played by another character, who also plays minor parts such as Pirate 3. What is the name of that character?
- Cornley were only able to put on the TV version because Max's aunt runs the BBC, but who 'funded' the stage show?
- Which malfunctioning prop is known by the cast as the 'death box'?
A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong
- Early in the special, something goes wrong for Chris that immediately goes right for another character (saying which character would make the question too easy). That character then struggles with the same problem throughout both series of TGWS. Who is the character and what is the problem?
The Goes Wrong Show (Series 1)
- Which episode was meant to be broadcast last, and therefore reuses sets and props from other episodes?
- What is the full name of the new character created exclusively for TGWS (all the other characters had previously appeared in TPTGW, PPGW or CCGW)?
- Who gets hit the most?
- What is the name of the fictional TV Show which CPDS is putting on?
- In 2020, Mischief released a Zoom background of a set from Series One which looked like a still picture, but occasionally Trevor would walk past. What episode was the set from?
Groan Ups
- What school did Paul go to?
- What malapropism (use of one word instead of a similar word) appears in both GU and TGWS S1?

- Rodent Keating
- Vincent Van Fluff
- Alexander Hamsterton
- The mating ritual of which animal is shown on the interactive whiteboard several times during the third act?
- In what year was the selfie invented (and what was it originally called)?
Magic Goes Wrong (Original script only; I haven't seen since the rewrite) (includes a 'trick' question)

- MGW is not the first magic-based show written by Mischief. What was the first?
- It is addressed that Bär is the German for Bear. What is the English translation of Spitzmaus?
- There are several pre-recorded videos of famous real-life magicians appearing. Which magician is mauled by a tiger in their VT?
- Co-writer Penn Jillette described the writing process as like "being in a room with [Who] in their prime"?
The Nativity Goes Wrong (separate from TGWS S2 because it's also the name of another play by Mischief)
- What three other tunes are used in (TV Version) O Little Town of Bethlehem?
- Which characters appear in both versions (the original is not a Cornley Production)?
- Which of the following lines is said by Dennis as one of the innkeepers?
- "I'm a stupid wise man. Here's your myrrh."
- "You want a broom?"
- "There's no room at the pub."
- "That's John the Baptist."
The Goes Wrong Show (Series 2)
- What is the first rule of Chekhov's Gun? (According to Robert)

- What is the first name of the character played by the real TGWS director?
- How many times does the voiceover in There is no Escape announce Stu Malone's death?
- When is Vanessa and Dennis' wedding?
Mischief Movie Night
There are far too many productions and you would have to have seen all of them to answer some questions, so these questions are generic and only refer to notable entries and the trailer.
- What isn't a genre of film?
- What is the real name of "The Man With No Name", and what is his interesting quirk?
- In the original show (pre-Covid) all audience members would be given an object before the show. What was that object?
- Mischief Movie Night was the rebranded title of the show. What was the original title?
