It's not ripe yet... Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Review
So, first of all, it's nothing like the first one.
I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. Oh, sorry, you wanted the review to be in English? Fine.
My last review (Detective Pikachu) went on for too long because I tried to describe EVERYTHING that happened. I've learned from my mistake and this time I'm only including the highlights.
The opening sequence: We established in a mid-credits scene at the end of the last movie that Baby Groot likes to dance and that it irritates Drax. The other Guardians are fighting a huge monster in order to protect some batteries, but while the titles are rolling, the action only really happens in the background, while the camera focuses exclusively on Baby Groot dancing around the arena-type space where they are fighting.
Occasionally the other Guardians interact with him, the funniest being when Drax just looks at him and he just stops mid-dance.
Pretty much anything Drax says: Unfortunately, most of them don't work alone because they're responses or require a setup, for example when talking about Quill's surrogate father Yondu (who is blue), the phrase "You look exactly alike!" doesn't work without knowing that.
Therefore, his IMDb quotes page is linked above.
Baby Groot and Yondu's Fin: There is a scene in which Rocket and Yondu end up imprisoned on Yondu's ship following a mutiny. They have to get Baby Groot to acquire Yondu's prototype fin, which is what he uses to control his psychic Yaka Arrow. Groot offers a large and bizarre range of objects before eventually Yondu's first mate Kraglin helps him locate the fin. We even get valuable insight about Groot's views on hats! The full scene is definitely worth a watch.
Baby Groot and the bomb: In this scene, Groot has to place a bomb at the centre of a planet to blow it up. It has to be him because he's the only one small enough to fit. More hilariousness from Drax, although it's unfortunately all offscreen.
All in all, hilarious movie, definitely worth a watch.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is currently available on Netflix as of 29/5/19.
